Dr. Johnetta Blakely is a medical oncologist and hematologist with over two decades of experience, specializing in breast and lung cancers. She serves as Executive Vice President of Quality and Clinic Operations at Tennessee Oncology, the largest provider of cancer care in the state. In this role, she oversees clinical operations across nearly 40 sites, with a focus on high-quality, patient-centered care, value-based care delivery, and health system innovation.
Dr. Blakely is also a passionate advocate for cancer patients at both the state and national levels. She serves on the Government Affairs Committee of the Community Oncology Alliance, where she works to advance policies that support community oncology practices and improve access to care.
Her current work includes leading initiatives to expand supportive oncology services in rural Tennessee, with a focus on reducing barriers to care through community partnerships and telehealth-based navigation.
Dr. Blakely completed her medical training at the University of Tennessee, residency at the University of Texas in Houston, and fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. She also holds graduate degrees in Clinical Research and Healthcare Management from the University of Texas Health Science Center and Vanderbilt University, respectively.
She lives in Nashville with her husband and has two grown children.
