This course equips Emergency Medical Services (EMS) professionals with the specialized knowledge and skills required to manage sports-related injuries in dynamic, high-pressure environments. Whether responding on the sidelines of youth leagues, high school games, or professional sporting events, EMS providers must be prepared to assess, stabilize, and coordinate care for athletes and spectators experiencing acute injuries. Understand the laws in place that protect responders and the documentation required after interaction with athletes, staff, or spectators, and apply these skills in both large and small dynamic environments.
Through a combination of lecture, case studies, and hands-on simulations, participants will learn to navigate the unique challenges of sports medicine, collaborate effectively with athletic staff and other stakeholders, create a large-scale event response plan using principles from Incident Command Structure (ICS), and ensure safe and efficient patient outcomes.
