From Zero to 100: The Importance of Resident Engagement in Building Community, Building Occupancy and Building Longevity

The session will explore resident engagement and its role in helping to shape the sense of community/ We will explore the components of true engagement and, through pictures and stories, explore the psychological effects of true engagement for our residents. The session will also help participants understand how Maslow's Hierarchy ties into resident engagement and through a series of role-playing exercises, give participants some specific tools they can utilize to help residents ascend through Maslow's hierarchy to a level where true engagement is possible. The session will also include best assessment practices to gather information on residents to build a better program and some program ideas that help to build relationships amongst residents to facilitate a sense of community.
