Defining Quality: Leading the Path to Favorable Regulation

Argentum is working through the Quality in Assisted Living Collaborative to establish pragmatic guidelines around prominent issues facing assisted living communities, and use those guidelines to enhance regulatory consistency across states. This initiative represents a collaborative effort of providers and state regulators to use established protocols to help benchmark quality and mitigate the threat of federal oversight. This session will explore QALC’s approach to developing guidelines that best serve assisted living communities, residents, and other stakeholders, while minimizing regulatory and staff burdens. Attendees will learn about QALC’s criteria for developing appropriate guidelines, opportunities for ongoing quality improvement, and efforts to promote appropriate regulations. This session will also address how providers and other stakeholders can engage with QALC and take the lead in shaping these efforts. Join us as we work together to ensure that our voices are heard, our practices are recognized, and our commitment to quality care is upheld — continuing the culture of excellence in assisted living.
