Surgery for the Diabetic Foot

This session focuses on the more common surgical procedures utilized for the surgical treatment of diabetic foot ulcers. This includes a discussion of osseous and soft tissue procedures. There are surgical options to cover or close the soft tissue envelope as well as to address the underlying biomechanical faults that contribute to the development and chronicity of the diabetic foot ulcer. The published outcomes for some of these procedures will also be reviewed.
