3:25 PM - 3:50 PM
Surgical reconstruction for pressure injury is known to have a high risk of post-surgical complications including infection, dehiscence, and recurrence. Patients with pressure injury are often managed non operatively to ensure pressure relief and nutritional optimization. However, despite the above, some pressure injury ulcers will benefit from surgical reconstruction to expedite wound healing. This session will review the indications for surgical consultation and surgical reconstructive options for pressure injury ulcers on the trunk, as well as review methods to optimize outcomes both pre- and post-operatively.
