60 min
Thursday, May 16, 2024
2:15 PM - 3:15 PM
We know that biofilms in chronic wounds can delay healing, but what treatments can be done, and how well do they work when addressing this significant problem in treating chronic wounds? This session will review the current state of the science on debridement and topical treatments to mitigate biofilms in wound care. The speakers will debate questions about the best ways to clinically diagnosis biofilm, how optimally to debride wounds, how often to debride them, which topical products are shown to disrupt biofilms, and the best ways to use them.
