Carol Shaw-Burns

Carol serves as the Corporate Director of Resident Services for Vi Living, a continuing care retirement organization operating ten communities across the United States. In this capacity, she provides strategic leadership for resident health, risk management, safety, and well‑being initiatives across the full continuum of care, including independent living, assisted living, memory support, and skilled nursing. She works collaboratively with corporate and community leadership teams to ensure the consistent implementation of quality, regulatory, and safety standards to support excellence in resident-centered services and programs. Carol holds a Doctorate in Human Services Administration and is a licensed nursing home administrator. She is also credentialed as a Certified Dementia Care Practitioner through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. In addition to her work at Vi Living, Carol contributes to the broader aging‑services community as a board member for the Alzheimer’s Association – Illinois Chapter, steering committee member for Dementia Friendly America and Peer Reviewer for the American Society on Aging.
