Dr. Rebecca Porter, MD, PhD is a Medical Oncologist in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. She also serves as the Director of Immunotherapy Research for the Division of Gynecologic Oncology, and her clinical and research efforts are centered on developing and translating novel immunotherapy strategies, including adoptive cell therapies, to patients with gynecologic cancers as well as performing biomarker studies to identify mediators of response and resistance to therapy. Dr. Porter maintains an active clinical practice seeing patients with ovarian, endometrial, cervical, vaginal and vulvar cancers.

Optimizing Outcomes with Currently Available Therapies – The Regulatory Standard Is the Treatment Standard

Explore treatment strategies for platinum-sensitive and platinum-resistant recurrent ovarian cancer, comparing optimization of outcomes with currently available therapies versus incorporation of emerging agents. Faculty will review clinical trial data, response patterns, and toxicity considerations across these approaches, providing expert perspectives on integrating established and emerging therapies to improve outcomes in recurrent ovarian cancer.

This session will focus on optimizing outcomes for patients with platinum-sensitive and platinum-resistant recurrent ovarian cancer using currently available therapies, and will review evidence supporting established chemotherapy regimens, targeted agents, and maintenance strategies across disease settings. Discussion will address sequencing, toxicity management, and tailoring treatment based on platinum sensitivity and prior therapy.

Dr. Linda Duska MD MPH is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville Virginia. She provides clinical care for women with gynecologic cancer includig surgery and chemotherapy, as well as for women with complex gynecologic surgical problems. Dr. Duska has been in practice since 1998, when she completed her Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, and moved to UVA in 2008 to assume the role of Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship Director. Currently, she manages the Gynecologic Oncology clinical reserach program, which includes a broad portfolio of clinical trials, including investigator initiated studies, NCI sponsored trials (NRG, ECTCN, SWOG, etc), GOG Foundation studies, and others. Dr. Duska has 4 grown children, and lives in Charlottesville with her husband and two dogs.

Rethinking Recurrent Ovarian Cancer – ADCs, New Taxane Combinations, Bispecifics – What Will the Future of Treatment Selection Look Like?

Faculty will review early-phase and evolving clinical data supporting these agents and their mechanisms of action, as well as how these therapies may be integrated into existing treatment paradigms. Learners will gain perspective on the potential of innovative agents to expand therapeutic options in recurrent ovarian cancer.

Marina Frimer

Dr. Marina Frimer, a distinguished Gynecologic Oncologist, is currently the Vice Chair of Research and Academic Development at Northwell Health’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. At Northwell Cancer Institute, Dr. Frimer is spearheading the development of a robust clinical and translational research program. Dr. Frimer is also the Director of Clinical Cancer Research at the Northwell Queens Cancer Center. Her translational work focuses on rare uterine cancers and cancer genomics, with collaborations with Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Her innovative translational research involves developing pre-clinical endometrial cancer models, including the cultivation of organoids to explore high grade uterine cancers and therapeutic options. Dr. Frimer has authored multiple publications and secured several grants to support her research initiatives. Notable projects include examining the mechanisms behind endometrial cancer disparities in African American populations and creating multi-omics maps of the human endometrium across diverse ancestries. Additionally, she is dedicated to building trust in clinical trials, partnering with the Hispanic Counseling Center to engage underrepresented communities. Dr. Frimer maintains an active clinical practice seeing patients with all gynecologic malignancies.
