He has published over 400 professional articles and chapters and 65 books including On Second Thought: How Ambivalence Shapes Your Life (2022), Effective Psychotherapists: Clinical Skills that Improve Client Outcomes (2021), Treating Addiction (2019), and Motivational Interviewing (4th edition, 2023). The Institute for Scientific Information has listed him among the world’s most cited scientists.
