George Adams
MD, MHS, MBA, FACC, FSCAI

As a world-renowned interventional cardiologist and leading pioneer in vascular interventions, he serves as Director of Cardiovascular and Peripheral Vascular Research, UNC Health-Rex, and Associate Professor, Cardiology, UNC School of Medicine. His special interests include amputation prevention; complex peripheral vascular interventions utilizing exotic access; personalizing care with atherectomy, lithotripsy and anti-neoproliferative devices; intravascular imaging; carotid artery stenting; renal artery stenting; development of regional systems of care for the treatment of ST-elevation myocardial infarction and critical limb ischemia; device development for the management of coronary and peripheral vascular disease.
He is a graduate of North Carolina State University and East Carolina Schools of Medicine. He earned a Masters of Health Science from Duke University and a Masters of Business Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill. He is board certified in interventional Cardiology. Dr. Adams serves as Chief Medical Officer for Cordis Medical and is affiliated with UNC Health System and North Carolina Heart and Vascular. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his three daughters, snow skiing, and working on his farm.
