Personal data: Dr. Alexandrescu was graduated at Leuven Medical University (U.C.L. Saint-Luc University) in Brussels in 1994 (with honorary distinction). He acquired complementary surgical and endovascular skills in Saint-Joseph Hospital in Marseille (Pr. P. Bergeron) France, and earned particular experience in lower limb CTO recanalization techniques in Leicester Royal Infirmary (Professors P.R. Bell and N.J. London, Vascular Dept. Current research: Critical Limb Ischemia with macro- and micro-circulatory aspects, wound healing, tissue regeneration particularly in diabetic and patient and stroke prevention and treatment, alike peripheral aneurismal disease.
Publications: More than 80 articles on endovascular diabetic foot treatment, limb salvage techniques, tissue regeneration, wound healing, and carotid revascularization in different surgical and medical journals. He also contributed with original chapters in seven recent medical books. He published his recent "Thesis volume" concerning the "diabetic foot wound-directed revascularization".
