10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
The formation of excessive or abnormal scar tissue after injury can be a major complicating factor, resulting in reduced joint mobility, impaired tissue growth and psychosocial issues. In the last decade, significant advances have been made in our understanding of what regulates scar tissue. This has led to several novel therapeutic strategies to reduce fibrotic scar production. This session will discuss the latest information on the mechanisms of scar formation and new methods to reduce scarring, including devices and pharmaceutical approaches.
