RAPID FIRE: Obesity and Wound Healing

Over the last several decades there has been an epidemic of obesity which has had tremendous public health implications, including its effects on wounds and wound healing. While previously, busy clinicians only advised patients to “eat less and exercise more”, the field is much more advanced now, with several pharmacological therapies and evidence-based non-pharmacological therapies available. In this session, we will review the many tools available in our armamentarium to combat obesity and potentially impact the world of wound healing.
