Studies have shown that despite advancements in healthcare, there remains a disparity in treatment and outcomes for some patient populations due to health inequity and bias. In an effort to address this, The Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP) included the Social Determinants of Health as part of the Healthy People 2030 initiative. Patients with chronic wounds may have complex clinical conditions and other factors which must be considered and addressed to ensure they have optimal healing potential.
