Innovation Theater Breakfast: From Prevention to Treatment: A Next-Generation Multilayered Foam Dressing Across the Care Trajectory (non-accredited)
90 min
Thursday, April 09, 2026
7:30 AM - 9:00 AM
Current international clinical practice guidelines recommend the use of multilayer foam dressings on high-risk body areas, such as the sacrum and heels in individuals at risk for pressure injury, as well as for the treatment of pressure injuries and other wounds.
This session will examine results from recent peer-reviewed publications exploring new, advanced testing methods developed for evaluating dressing efficacy in pressure injury prevention (PIP), with a focus on reducing skin exposure to shear and excess heat, as well as the performance of this portfolio of next-generation multilayered foam dressings in the management of hard-to-heal wounds.
Learning Objectives:
• Examine the performance of a unique dressing with a Hydrofiber®-based skin contact layer, and its impact on the mechanical and microclimate conditions of the skin in the context of PIP
• Understand the benefits of Hydrofiber® technology in dressings which are indicated for both PIP and wound treatment
