Industry-Supported Symposium Breakfast: Chronic Wound Healing: Using Prognostic Markers and Predictive Indicators to Inform Strategic Treatment Decisions
90 min
Thursday, May 01, 2025
7:30 AM - 9:00 AM
Supported by an educational grant from Organogenesis Inc.
Learning objectives:
• Analyze the results of a multicenter study examining the percentage change in venous leg ulcer area as a prognostic index for healing at 24 weeks and evaluate the clinical significance of these findings in predicting long-term healing outcomes and guiding treatment strategies.
• Identify wounds at risk of prolonged healing to facilitate timely communication and appropriate treatment interventions.
• Recognize the importance of prognostic markers in chronic wound healing and determine when to initiate advanced therapies.
• Quantify wound healing progress using predictive values from initial wound assessments, including factors such as wound size, depth, tissue type, and patient-specific variables, to accurately forecast healing outcomes and guide treatment decisions.
