Hard to heal wounds have been described as those that are not progressing despite optimal supportive care being provided. This session will explore the wound environment, with a focus on bacterial toxins, proteases, and pH as potential contributors to the hostile wound environment and suggest changes to the topical care that could positively impact the healing trajectory.
