10:45 AM - 11:45 AM
Wound healing is significantly challenged in patients with heart and peripheral vascular diseases concomitantly due to the interplay of compromised blood flow and systemic health issues. These conditions affect the "pump" (the heart) and the "pipes" (the blood vessels), creating multifaceted barriers to efficient wound repair. This session will review both central (the pump) and peripheral vascular disease as synergistic issues that should be evaluated and treated separately for the best wound healing outcomes, or to understand why would healing is impaired and to document these specific impairments to wound closure.
