The Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act requires prescribers renewing their DEA registration to have completed at least eight hours of training on opioid or other substance use disorders. This training can be completed in-person at the Rocky Mountain Symposium.

No matter your specialty—cardiology, dermatology, family medicine, internal medicine, oncology, psychiatry, etc.—the Rocky Mountain Symposium is an ideal venue to fulfill your MATE Act requirements and learn how to better identify and care for your patients with co-occurring substance use issues.

While the MATE Act does not require specific courses, we recommend the following sessions at this year’s Symposium:

• Opioid Pharmacology and the Opioid Epidemic: Illicitly Manufactured Fentanyl, Xylazine, and Emerging Trends
• Pharmacotherapy for Alcohol Use Disorder
