This session will provide a comprehensive overview of atopic dermatitis, beginning with its underlying pathophysiology and disease mechanisms. Faculty will review the clinical manifestations of atopic dermatitis, including important considerations in skin of color, and discuss tools for evaluating disease severity and overall impact on patients and their families. Evidence-based management strategies will be introduced, with a focus on topical corticosteroids and calcineurin inhibitors commonly used in primary care. The program will also explore treatment options beyond the primary care setting, including advanced therapies and emerging agents currently being studied in randomized controlled trials.
