Accreditation

Practical Updates in Primary Care will occur as a virtual experience from May 15-17, July 24-26, September 18-20 and November 6-8, 2024. A Q&A session with the faculty will follow each livestream presentation. Please review the credit designation statements to ensure the activity provides your credit type.

To be eligible for documentation of credit, participants must attend the full activity and submit a completed evaluation form. Participants who complete the evaluation online within 30 days of the virtual conference will receive immediate documentation of credit.

This enduring material will be available for purchase for either 30 or 90 days following the virtual conference.
Participants are not eligible to receive credit for any part of this enduring material already claimed as part of the live event.

Intended Learners

This conference is designed for primary care physicians, family medicine specialists, internists, pediatricians, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, registered dietitians, certified diabetes educators, and other healthcare professionals involved in primary care.

Learning Objectives

After participating in Practical Updates in Primary Care, participants should be able to:

  • Review current treatment guidelines, diagnostic recommendations, and management strategies for a variety of medical conditions commonly seen by primary care healthcare practitioners
  • Diagnose frequently encountered medical conditions and apply an evidence-based treatment plan to improve patient outcomes
  • Summarize up-to-date management of common medical conditions in clinical practice
  • Increase understanding of a variety of disease processes and determine strategies to optimize referrals and consultations with specialists to provide optimal patient care
  • Employ new strategies to enact behavioral change in your patients, translating into improved clinical outcomes

Physicians

AAPA CME Credit seal

HMP Education has been authorized by the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with the AAPA CME Criteria. This internet live activity is designated for 18 AAPA Category 1 Credits. PAs should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

Pharmacists

This internet live, knowledge-based activity (Universal Activity Number: JA0006201-0000-24-058-L01-P) has been approved for 18 contact hours (1.8 CEUs).

Note: The certificate is not the official record of your participation in the activity. The official record of credit will be the information in the CPE Monitor system. Following ACPE Policy, credit must be transmitted to NABP through CPE Monitor within 60 days from the date you complete this CPE activity.

Nurse Practitioners

American Academy of Nurse Practitioners National Certification Program accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by the ACCME. This activity will also award 12 pharmacotherapeutic contact hours.

Nurses

This continuing nursing education internet live activity awards 18 contact hours. 

This activity also awards 8.75 pharmacotherapeutic contact hours.

Dietitians

CDR

Completion of this RD/DTR profession-specific or IPCE activity awards CPEUs (1 IPCE credit = 1 CPEU). 

If the activity is dietetics-related but not targeted to RDs or DTRs, CPEUs commensurate with participation in contact hours may be claimed (1 sixty-minute hour = 1 CPEU). 

RDs and DTRs are to select activity type 102 in their Activity Log. Performance Indicator selection is at the learner’s discretion. 

Please note that credit amounts are subject to change based on the finalization of the program agenda. 

Requirements for Credit 

To be eligible for documentation of credit for each session attended, learners must participate in the activity and complete the session(s) and overall conference evaluations, and post-test(s), if applicable. Participants who complete the evaluation online within 30 days of the conference will receive documentation of credit. Your certificate may not load if you are accessing it from a smartphone, or settings of your browser do not allow for a new tab/window to open.  

Once a certificate has been claimed, physicians and pharmacists may elect for credits to be submitted on their behalf to their boards via additional fields that will appear within the Claim Certificate page. Credits must be submitted through this process to be reported to the American Board of Surgery and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy.
