Michael Lavery
MD

Dr Lavery obtained his medical degree from Queens University Belfast in Ireland and subsequently completed an internal medicine residency. He then completed his dermatology training in the United Kingdom and at Temple University in Philadelphia. Following this he completed a pediatric dermatology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic Arizona & Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Dr Lavery is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Florida.
Dr Lavery’s interests include general pediatric dermatology, vascular anomalies, chronic itch and genetic skin disorders including Epidermolysis Bullosa. Dr Lavery is the Director of the Vascular Anomaly Conference, Director of the Chronic Itch Clinic, Co-Director of the Congenital and Genetic Skin Disease Clinic and Director of the Epidermolysis Bullosa Multidisciplinary Clinic. He is the Physician Director of Quality for Dermatology and is on the College of Medicine Faculty Council. Dr Lavery has received numerous awards including induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. In 2024 he was one of only 6 physicians awarded the University of Florida College of Medicine Rising Star Clinical Faculty Award. Dr Lavery has published 66 peer-reviewed articles, 4 book chapters and has spoken at numerous national and international conferences.
