Dylan Tinney is a PhD candidate in the lab of Dr. Douglas Hamilton in the department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at Western University in London, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Douglas Hamilton's lab studies connective tissue regeneration, biomaterials, and wound healing primarily in the context of non-healing skin wounds. Dylan Tinney started his PhD project in 2019 focussing on the histological evaluation of non-healing human wounds and acute full-thickness excisional wounds in a porcine model. This histological evaluation focussed on stress response pathways, primarily keratinocyte activation and oxidative stress with the intention of improving our understanding of the wound healing process in porcine models, identifying potential biomarkers to guide human chronic wound debridement, and uncovering possible targets for therapeutic intervention in wound chronicity.
