Michael S. Stempel DPM, FACFAS is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the George Washington University. He received his degree in Podiatric Medicine at the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, and completed residencies at the Washington DC VA Medical Center and at Roseland Surgical Center. Dr. Stempel has been a member of the GWU hospital staff and the GW Medical Faculty Associates since 1994, and is the Chief of Podiatry, and Medical Director at the Wound Healing and Limb Preservation Center at George Washington University Hospital. His clinical and research interests include diabetic wound healing, limb salvage as well as the treatment of foot and ankle injuries and deformities.
