Elise Burger, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Utah, where she leads initiatives in resident education, complex medical dermatology, and wound care. Dr. Burger serves as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on several clinical trials and is passionate about translating clinical research into practical, patient-centered care.
A dedicated educator, Dr. Burger directs innovative teaching efforts for dermatology residents, including curriculum development in clinical reasoning, coding, and career planning. She also spearheads departmental projects aimed at improving call efficiency and workload tracking, enhancing both training quality and patient safety.
Dr. Burger is co-author of a forthcoming dermatology board-review textbook designed for residents preparing for certification, and she mentors trainees in scholarship and professional development. Outside of work, she enjoys international travel, skiing, and hiking Utah’s national parks.
