Dr. Shaffett is a Nurse Practitioner that has been successfully involved in the management and treatment of wounds for more than 20 years. He is the Co-founder of MedCentris, a wound medicine group practice, which employs 30 Nurse Practitioners and approximately 30 nurses and wound techs throughout the states of Louisiana and Mississippi. He and his team of providers bring advanced wound healing to all areas of acute and post-acute care settings.

Wound care is underserved as a profession with a huge impact regarding resource utilization on our healthcare systems. It is his mission to educate his colleagues and peers, as well as communities on wound prevention and management options to expedite wound healing.

His belief is in advanced modalities and taking an aggressive holistic approach to wound management that involves not only the members of the wound care team but the patient, caregivers, primary care physician and other specialist such as surgeons, infection disease physicians, and dieticians. It is through this aggressive approach that he and his team are successful in, not only salvaging limbs and saving lives, but preventing future and reoccurring wounds. His daily goal is for complete patient satisfaction through accelerated healing rates, and improved patient functional status with the most cost-effective methods of wound healing delivery.
