Dr. Julia Paul obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Valparaiso University and her Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in nursing at Wayne State University. She is an associate professor of nursing in the School of Nursing at Oakland University, Rochester, Michigan, where she teaches at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She is currently teaching health assessment and a wound care course for nurses. She has practiced clinically at Corewell Beaumont University Hospital East throughout her career, with over 25 years as an inpatient wound care nurse practitioner. She maintains certification in medical-surgical nursing, critical care nursing, and wound care. Her research interests include chronic wounds, itch, medical-surgical nursing, plastic and reconstructive surgical nursing, and interprofessional practice. She is an active member of the Wound Healing Society, the International Forum for the Study of Itch, the American Professional Wound Care Association, the Midwest Nursing Research Society, the Wound Ostomy Continence Nurses Society, and Sigma Theta Tau.
