Brian Machler, M.D. is a Dermatologist in private practice in Florham Park, NJ, at the Center for Dermatology and is a Voluntary Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Department of Dermatology. He has been in practice for 28 years and specializes in medical and surgical dermatology with a special interest in allergic contact dermatitis and patch testing. He has served on the Board of Directors of the American Contact Dermatitis Society. He has been published in many peer reviewed medical journals and has lectured nationally on a variety of subjects.

Dermatology for the Wound Provider

While not all wound care providers are dermatologists, a solid foundation in dermatology is paramount for practicing in the field. This session will first cover the science behind skin structure and function and how they are disrupted and repaired in the process of wound care. It will then delve into a discussion of dermatologic conditions that lead to wounds and how the wound care professional can best identify and treat them.
