Dr. Kristin Mondy is currently the Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Texas Dell Medical School in Austin, Texas. She completed her undergraduat training at Brown University, medical school training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, and her Internal Medicine Residency and Infectious Diseases Fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where she was also a junior faculty member. After returning to Texas in 2008, she became a clinical educator with the University of Texas’ Internal Medicine Residency Program and was the lead infectious diseases provider for the Austin Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic. She assumed her current role in 2017 following the development of the Dell Medical School. Current areas of interest include academic inpatient infectious diseases and antibiotic stewardship at the University of Texas Dell-Seton Medical Center, care of underserved HIV populations, and telemedicine to rural areas of Texas. Dr. Mondy also maintains an active involvement in educational activities and curriculum design including postgraduate medical education, continuing medical education, mentoring, and medical school didactic and small group teaching.
