Luis Raez

Edward Garon is the Director of the Thoracic Oncology Program at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and Director of the Signal Transduction and Therapeutics Program at the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center at UCLA. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His M.D. degree was from Washington University in St. Louis. He performed his internship and residency at the University of Chicago. After a chief residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, he was a fellow in hematology and oncology at UCLA. He has remained at UCLA ever since and is currently a Professor of Medicine. He also received a Master's degree in clinical investigation from UCLA. He has been the principal investigator of peer reviewed grants from various funding organizations including the National Institute of Health in the United States. His focus is on clinical research and biomarker development. He has served as the principal investigator on national and international phase I, II and III clinical trials, including trials that have led to the approval of multiple drugs and a companion diagnostic.

Corey J. Langer is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, Perelman School of Medicine, where he serves as Clinical Director of Thoracic Oncology in the Abramson Cancer Center. Professor Langer received his medical degree from Boston University in 1981 and completed his residency in medicine at the Graduate Hospital, University of Pennsylvania, and his hematology/oncology fellowship at Presbyterian University of Pennsylvania and Fox Chase Cancer Center in 1987.
Professor Langer served in the Oncology division of Fox Chase Cancer Center from 1986–2008, leading its Thoracic Oncology Program from 1994–2008. He moved to the University of Pennsylvania in 2008, where he helps lead clinical research efforts in thoracic malignancy as part of the Interdisciplinary Thoracic Oncology Program (I-TOP) and conducts research studies focused on the role of targeted therapy and immunotherapy in NSCLC.
Professor Langer is Co-Chair of the Medical Oncology Committee for NRG Cooperative Oncology Group and serves on the core thoracic committees of both NRG and ECOG. Professor Langer is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC). Since 2016, he has been Editor-in-Chief of the International Lung Cancer News (ILCN) under the aegis of the IASLC.
He has authored or co-authored over 220 peer-reviewed papers in thoracic oncology.

Kelsey Pan is a Thoracic Medical Oncologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Emory University Winship Cancer Center. Her interests within thoracic malignancies include clinical outcomes of novel targeted therapies in oncogene-driven NSCLC, CNS metastases and LMD. She completed hematology/ oncology fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she served as a Chief Fellow for 2 years. She has participated in various workshops focused on clinical research and trials development, such the FDA/ASCO Fellows' Workshop, AACR/ASCO Methods in Clinical Research, and EGFR Resisters Research Summit. She has presented her research in thoracic malignancies at various national and international conferences, including IASLC World Conference in Lung Cancer and Targeted Therapies of Lung Cancer. As a new faculty and clinical investigator, she is interested in continuing her work in treating CNS metastases and actionable genomic alterations in NSCLC by designing clinical trials of novel therapies with enhanced CNS penetrance.

Raez, MD, FASCO, FACP, FCCP works as Chief Scientific Officer & Medical Director of the Memorial Cancer Institute (MCI)/Memorial Health Care System, He is Co-Director of the MCI/FAU Florida Cancer Center of Excellence designated by the Florida Department of Health, one of only six cancer centers in Florida. He is also Director of the Thoracic Oncology Program. He is also Clinical Professor of Medicine at Florida International University (FIU), Visiting Professor of Medicine at Cayetano Heredia University in Peru and Research Professor at Florida Atlantic University (FAU). He was the Vice-President of the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology (FLASCO) 2017-19 and President 2019-2021.
He designs phase I-III clinical trials with new targeted agents and immunotherapy. Dr. Raez does translational research and clinical research. He has been funded by NCI and the pharma industry. He has given oral presentations and lectures in national and international meetings in the US, Europe, Latin-America, Africa and Asia.

Edgardo S. Santos Castillero, MD, FACP, FASCO practices at The Oncology Institute (TOI) of Hope and Innovation and is Clinical Associate Professor at Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine/Florida Atlantic University. Dr. Santos is the Medical Director at Broward County, Florida for TOI, the Physician Lead for TOI Lung Cancer Center of Excellence and the President of Florida Society of Clinical Oncology (FLASCO). He is also an active member of the Membership Committee as well as Editorial Group member IASLC Lung Cancer News (ILCN) of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC), member of the Evidence-based Medicine Committee, Head and Neck Guideline Advisory Group and member of the 2023, 2024 and 2025 ASCO-SEP Item Writing Task Force for the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). Dr. Santos earned his M.D. in 1994 at the University of Panama, School of Medicine, Republic of Panama. Dr. Santos has authored or co-authored more than 100 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals and serves as reviewer for several scientific publications. His focus and expertise in on lung cancer diagnosis, management, and research. Dr. Santos is a former faculty member of University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Miami, Florida where he held an academic rank as an Associate Professor of Medicine (2008-2012) and Tulane University Health Sciences Center, New Orleans, Louisiana (2004-2008). He is an active member of ACP, ASCO, ASH, AACR, ESMO, IASLC, OLA, and ILBS.
