Dr. Awan is a Professor in the Division of Hematology and Oncology of the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He is the Associate Director of the Section of Hematologic Malignancies/Transplantation and Cellular Therapies and also leads the Lymphoid Malignancies Program at UT Southwestern. He completed his residency training at the University of Pittsburgh, followed by a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at The Ohio State University. His clinical and translational research interests involve evaluating novel therapies for lymphoid malignancies, especially chronic lymphocytic leukemia and non-Hodgkin lymphomas, including cellular therapies and stem cell transplantation.
