Prashant Kapoor, MD, FACP, is a Consultant, Professor of Medicine and Professor of Oncology at Mayo Clinic. He is the Chair of the Myeloma, Amyloidosis and Dysproteinemia Group at Mayo Clinic, Rochester.
He was awarded the Kurtz Myeloma Research Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in 2008 following which he commenced his clinical fellowship training in Hematology and Oncology at Mayo Clinic. Upon completion of his training in 2012, he was invited to serve as faculty in the Division of Hematology, Mayo Clinic.
He is a recipient of several awards, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Merit Award, Department of Medicine (DOM) Career Development Award, Research Innovation Award, Transplant Center Scholar Award and the Department of Medicine Faculty Scholar Award.
His research is focused in evaluating novel agents in plasma cell disorders. He is a PI of several investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials. He has served on Mayo Clinic Institutional Review Board, and is currently a member of Mayo Clinic Data Safety Monitoring Committee.
He is a passionate educator and has presented his work at national and international forums. He has served on the Editorial Board of the ASH Daily News and is the Myeloma Section Editor of Current Hematologic Malignancy Reports and Co-Site Editor for Myeloma Section of JNCCN 360. He has over 400 publications in prestigious journals, including The Lancet, JAMA Oncology, JCO, The Lancet Oncology and Blood.
He is a fellow at the ACP, and an active member of the IMWG, ASH, ASCO and the IMS.
