Marita is a family nurse practitioner who is a certified ostomy specialist and certified medical surgical nurse practicing in Inflammatory Bowel Disease at the University of Chicago. She serves as the Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship Program and the Manager of the Advanced Practice Service for the section of Gastroenterology at University of Chicago. She has been working with patients with inflammatory bowel disease since 2018 and is an active contributor to the IBD community through mentorship, collaboration, leadership and educational planning. Her clinical interests include peristomal pyoderma gangrenosum, pregnancy in IBD and health maintenance optimization in IBD. When not treating patients Marita is completing a doctorate of nursing practice and masters of public health at Johns Hopkins University.
