Jeffrey Zgoda

Jeff began his career in Emergency Medical Services in 2012 in Western New York, advancing from EMT-Basic to Paramedic through discipline, perseverance, and a commitment to clinical excellence. Since 2018, he has served as a lead instructor and NAEMT Affiliate Faculty member, mentoring and developing future EMS professionals.

He currently serves as Training and Education Administrator for Twin City Ambulance and as a volunteer fire chief, where he was named Firefighter of the Year in 2018. His dedication to patient care earned him the UBMD Award for Exceptional Patient Care and the Catholic Health Lifesaver Award in 2024.

Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science in EMS Education from Columbia Southern University and is pursuing his MBA at the University at Buffalo, strengthening his leadership in healthcare and emergency services.

ASHER 3000 for the Volunteer World

ASHER 3000 is a lecture-based program designed to equip volunteer EMS providers with the knowledge and decision-making tools necessary to respond effectively to Active Shooter and Hostile Event Response (ASHER) incidents. This course focuses on understanding current threat trends, the evolution of ASHER tactics, and the unique challenges faced by volunteer agencies with limited staffing, extended response times, and variable resources.

Participants will explore the latest evidence-supported models for warm-zone operations, casualty collection points, unified command integration, and responder safety. Through detailed case reviews and structured discussion, the course breaks down real-world incident lessons, highlighting what volunteer responders must know before arriving on scene.

ASHER 3000 provides a clear framework for operational readiness, interagency interoperability, and high-threat medical considerations. Attendees will leave with practical, adaptable strategies that strengthen situational awareness, improve coordination with law enforcement and fire partners, and enhance overall preparedness for rapidly evolving hostile events.

Designed for EMTs, AEMTs, paramedics, and volunteer fire/EMS personnel, this lecture equips responders with the critical knowledge needed to protect their communities when it matters most.
