Dr. Sean M Tutton is a Professor of Radiology and Orthopedics at UCSD Health.
Dr. Tutton received his degree from Rutgers University, New Jersey School Medical School in 1991 and completed his internship, residency and fellowship at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University in Chicago IL. He joined UCSD in 2021. He also received additional board certification in Hospice and Palliative Care in 2012.
His clinical focus has been caring for cancer and non-cancer patients with pain and advancing the art of interventional radiology through clinical research. His principal areas of interest include treatment of musculoskeletal tumors with embolization, ablation, and stabilization of pathologic fractures.
He helped develop a minimally invasive treatment of patients suffering from painful cancer related pelvic fractures utilizing a combination of ablation, screw, and cement fixation which interventionalists are now utilizing at multiple centers around the world.
