Osman Ahmed, MD, FSIR, FCIRSE, is a Professor of Radiology and internationally recognized interventional radiologist specializing in vascular and minimally invasive therapies. A graduate of Northwestern University and the University of Illinois College of Medicine, he completed his diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Chicago and fellowship at Stanford. Dr. Ahmed has held faculty positions at Rush University Medical Center and the University of Chicago, where he served in multiple leadership roles, including Director of Venous Interventions and Vice Chair of Wellness.

He has authored hundreds of peer-reviewed publications, delivered lectures worldwide, and contributed extensively to advancing techniques in venous interventions, oncology, and musculoskeletal embolization. His honors include the Dr. Gary J. Becker Young Investigator Award from the Society of Interventional Radiology and the University of Chicago Distinguished Clinician Award. In addition to his academic contributions, Dr. Ahmed co-founded Flow Medical, reflecting his commitment to innovation in patient care. He now leads the Joint and Vascular Institute in Libertyville, Illinois and as adjunct Professor of Radiology at University of Utah.
