Lichen Planus and Lichenoid Dermatoses: Treatment Opportunities

Chronic lichen planus and related lichenoid dermatoses often pose therapeutic challenges, especially in persistent or treatment-resistant cases. This session will explore both foundational approaches—such as topical and systemic corticosteroids, phototherapy, and immune-modulating agents—and emerging, pathogenesis-driven treatments like JAK inhibitors, PDE 4 inhibitors, and biologics targeting IL 17/IL 23 pathways. Attendees will gain insight into when to escalate care, how to individualize treatment based on disease subtype or severity, and where novel therapies are showing promise in clinical practice.
