Carina Blomstrom-Lundqvist
MD, PhD

Professor Carina Blomström-Lundqvist is a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist and a Senior Consultant and Professor of Cardiology at the Department of Cardiology, Örebro University Hospital, and School of Medical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine and Health, Örebro University, in Sweden.
Her main research interests relates to management of atrial fibrillation, particularly catheter and surgical ablation, and also inherited arrhythmogenic cardiac disorders such as arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy.
She has served as scientific secretary for the Swedish Society of Medicine, chair of the Heart Rhythm Group of the Swedish Society of Cardiology, and the WG of Arrhythmia of the ESC. She has had several leadership positions in European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) and has been active within several ESC Committees. She is presently the chair of the ESC Arrhythmia section of the Congress Program Committee and the ESC Partnership Policy Committee, and member of the ESC Nucleus of the Cardiovascular Round Table, and is Councilor of the ESC Board. She has also been involved in several EHRA/ESC practice guidelines and expert committees.
