Dr. David Rizik completed his undergrad studies in Michigan before attending Saint Louis University Medical School in Saint Louis, Missouri. Internal medicine residency was completed at the Washington University Medical Center. Cardiology and interventional cardiology were completed at William Beaumont Hospital in Detroit. Dr Rizik is board-certified in general and interventional cardiology. He is the Chief Scientific Officer, Director of Structural & Coronary Interventions, and Director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship program at HonorHealth. He was principal investigator of the 1st U.S. DES-Trial. He performed and published the first left main bifurcation intervention in the modern DES era. He has been the principal investigator in a number of TAVR, MitraClip and coronary stent trials. A distinguished researcher in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease, he has published more than 100 manuscripts and book chapters. He was awarded the designation Master Interventionalist from the SCAI in 2018. He is founder and organizing Director of the Scottsdale Interventional Forum, a nationally recognized CME meeting. During the COVID pandemic, he was the first to convert a CME meeting to a virtual platform. After a 13 month hiatus of all CME meetings in the US, the Scottsdale Interventional Forum was the first meeting to return to a “live format” publishing the success of this meeting in CCI.
He is executive producer of the two-time Emmy Award winning medical education series “The Procedure”, and executive producer of Scattered Denial, a medical education series highlighting radiation exposure dangers and orthopedic hazards in the cardiac catheterization lab.
