Dr. Foster is a graduate of Baylor University and received his medical degree from UAB. After residency at UT Southwestern, he returned to UAB for cardiology fellowship. He then went on staff at UAB as the Clinical Director of Cardiac MRI before joining the Birmingham Heart Clinic.

Dr. Foster’s passion now is creating the safest interventional lab environments to protect physicians and staff from the harmful effects of radiation while reducing orthopedic strain and injury.

Dr Bella Hausen obtained her medical degree from the universities of Manchester and Edinburgh where she was initially a plastic surgical trainee with an interest in micro vascular repair. She completed advance microsurgical training at Zurich, and Rhainoplasty Msc at Barcelona. She went on to complete her Radiology and Interventional Radiology specialist registration with the royal college of Radiology London U.K. She completed her advance Endovascular fellowship with Professor Andrew Holden at Auckland University hospital, NewZealand.

Dr Hausen preformed the first lithotripsy in peripheral endovascular CLI disease, along with the first Sirolimus DCB use in both CLI and AVF, in Europe.

Dr Huasen is the head of endovascular research and innovation in Lancashire U.K. Her current interest are training and education of future doctors, radiation protection for patients and staff, CLI management, AVF salvage, pain management and women’s health. She currently works at Lancashire University health trusts U.K.

William A. Gray, M.D., is an interventional cardiologist, board certified in internal medicine, interventional cardiology, vascular and endovascular medicine. Dr. Gray was at the Center for Interventional Vascular Therapy as Director, Endovascular Intervention at New York Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital.

Prior to joining Columbia University Dr. Gray was Director of the Endovascular Care at Swedish Medical Center from 1999-2005. Before Seattle, Dr. Gray practiced at Southwest Cardiology where he directed research, served as vice-chair of the Cardiology division at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M., and was a founding member of the Heart Hospital of New Mexico.

Dr. Gray specializes in cardiac/structural and peripheral arterial disease diagnosis and treatment as well as non-surgical modalities for stroke prevention, research into preventing the reoccurrence of disease following successful angioplasty or stenting.

Dr. Gray has been principal investigator for numerous clinical trials, and is routinely asked to speak at national and international conferences. He has also been a consultant and device/procedure proctor for numerous medical corporations, and has been a journal reviewer for the American Medical Association.

Dr. Gray holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA and graduated from Temple University’s School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Dr. Gray’s postgraduate training included an internship, residency, and Chief Residency in Internal Medicine at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, R.I., where he also completed a clinical/research/ interventional fellowship in Cardiology.

Ajay Kirtane, MD, SM, is a Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center and Director of the Columbia Interventional Cardiovascular Care Center at NYPresbyterian Hospital. Dr. Kirtane is a graduate of Princeton University and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and completed his residency/chief residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California – San Francisco. He completed fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease,Coronary and Peripheral Vascular Intervention at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center / Harvard Medical School and has a Masters of Science in Clinical Epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health.

Dr. Kirtane is a practicing Cardiologist with an interest in coronary and peripheral intervention and assumed the directorship of the NYP/Columbia cardiac cath laboratories in 2015. In addition to his clinical commitments at CUMC, Dr. Kirtane has a strong interest in clinical education and research, serving as Chief Academic Officer of the Center for Interventional Vascular Therapy. On the national and international level, he is a co-director of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation’s Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics meeting, has served as a director of several international, national, and regional educational meetings, and has participated on the program committees for the scientific sessions of both the American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association. Dr. Kirtane’s research interests are in clinical trial methodology and outcomes of device-based and pharmacologic interventions in Interventional Cardiology. He has authored/co-authored >150 original manuscripts and >50 reviews and chapters including the “Coronary Stenting” chapters of the two most widely used textbooks in Interventional Cardiology.

Dr. Patrick Muck attended the University of Notre Dame and completed medical school at the University of Kentucky. He completed his vascular fellowship at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. He currently is the Program Director of the independent and integrated vascular residencies at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Muck is also the Chief of the Section of Vascular Surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital. He is the Site Director for multiple FDA trials at GSH. Dr. Muck has been a speaker and/or moderator at many national and international meetings. He has written and published articles in peer reviewed journals and currently is a reviewer for the Journal of Vascular Surgery. He has authored several book chapters as well. He serves as the Past President for the Midwestern Vascular Surgery Society. He is the Treasurer of the American Venous Forum.

I am currently the Lead Interventional Medical Physics Expert at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust [having retired and returned!] and also a recent President of the British Institute of Radiology. I currently chair the UK working group investigating how best to set DRLs in interventional procedures. I was recently a member of an ICRP working group that has published a report on Diagnostic Reference Levels. I have been co-opted on to two international WG’s looking at quality control of radiological equipment in general [IEC] and angiography imaging equipment [EFOMP] both of which were published last year. I was seconded on to a US NCRP WG on training requirements for fluoroscopists [NCRP Commentary #33] and am part of the research team writing EU guidance for Incident Learning Systems. My current research interests are patient skin [Adviser to IAEA international study], and staff dose assessment and optimisation in interventional cardiology and radiology. I am currently part of a team within the British Society of Interventional Radiology looking to increase awareness of staff protection issues in interventional procedures.

Lancer Smith, MS, is a health physicist and the founder of Heartland Physics, a medical and health physics consulting company based in Alabama. He also serves as the Health Physics Lead at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), overseeing radiation safety for a wide range of clinical and research applications. With a master’s degree in health physics, Lancer specializes in radiation shielding design, equipment performance testing, and regulatory compliance for diagnostic imaging systems using X-rays, including fluoroscopy.

In his institutional role and private practice, Lancer is passionate about helping facilities optimize radiation safety programs while maintaining clinical efficiency. His work frequently involves evaluating radiation safety policies and procedures and educating healthcare providers on radiation exposure reduction strategies.

Lancer’s dual perspective—working within large healthcare systems and independently with private practices—gives him unique insight into the practical implementation of radiation safety protocols across diverse clinical settings. He believes that real-time dosimetry is critical for cultivating a culture of safety in fluoroscopy and improving occupational dose awareness for physicians and staff.

Dr. John Thomas Eagan is a board-certified invasive and interventional cardiologist with Cardiovascular Associates/Baptist Health in Birmingham, Alabama. He has more than 30 years of experience diagnosing and treating heart and vascular diseases and treats venous disease using state-of-the-art, minimally invasive ablation techniques to improve the appearance and function of lower extremity venous abnormalities.

Dr. Eagan earned his medical degree and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. His fellowship in cardiovascular disease was performed at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta.

Board certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology, Dr. Eagan is a fellow of the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions, American College of Cardiology, American College of Chest Physicians and American College of Angiology. His father also was a cardiologist, and he attributes his interest in the field to his admiration for his father’s work.

He completed his Radiology residency and Neuroradiology fellowship at the University of Michigan, and Interventional Neuroradiology fellowship at University of Geneva. From 1998-2008 he was Division Head of Interventional Neuroradiology at Johns Hopkins. Since 2008 he has been Prof of Radiology at University of Toronto. He holds 81 patents including vertebroplasty systems, bone cements, biopsy systems, and other medical devices to treat spine, neurovascular and disc pathologies. He is a competitive race car drive in modern and vintage race cars, driving for teams in Europe at Spa, Silverstone, and across the US and Canada. His essays have been published in The Toronto Star, The national Post and the Christian Science monitor. He book The Essence of Invention and the Joy of medical Creativity is published by Dundurn Press, and is available in books stores and online. H-Index 50. Citations 8015.

Dr. Ramsey is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and earned her M.D. from the University of Pittsburgh, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She then completed her surgical training in Breast Surgical Oncology at Baylor University Medical Center, and earned her M.B.A from American University. Her dedication to improving safety in healthcare led her to the development of the BAT™, an innovative radiation protection garment designed to reduce cancer risks in healthcare workers. Dr. Ramsey and the BAT were recently selected for the 2025 Modern Healthcare Innovators Award.

Dr. Ramsey has presented her research at numerous international conferences, authored peer-reviewed publications, and serves as a reviewer for the British Medical Journal. Currently, she leads as the Medical Director of Breast Surgery for Acclaim Health in Fort Worth, Texas, and mentors the next generation of surgeons as an Assistant Professor at TCU Burnett School of Medicine. Our intitution hosts 2 state of the art interventional hybrid cath labs and we perform a broad variety of interventional procedures, ranging from vascular- and general surgery to interventional oncology, urology and gynecology. I also participate in different educational groups regarding radiation protection and justification for the use of radiological examinations.
I've always been interested in sports and competed on the Swedish national team in Triathlon during a few years before med school. I also competed in cycling at national elite level. In recent years I've switched to powerlifting and recreational endurance training. Besides spending time with my family, I enjoy music, both writing- and playing, especially the piano.

Dr. Rosenfield is an interventional cardiologist and vascular specialist performing complex cardiac and vascular interventions. He is Section Head for Vascular Medicine and Intervention in the Division of Cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital. He earned a masters degree in Health Care Delivery Science from Dartmouth College. In addition to being a master clinician and interventionalist, Dr. Rosenfield has dedicated much of his career to educating fellows, residents, students, and colleagues. He is the recipient of the distinguished Laennec award for his outstanding teaching and mentorship. He is also a researcher and clinical trialist. He designed and served as national principle investigator for several landmark studies, including Aspire 2, Levant 2, Superb, ACT 1, and NIH BEST-CLI trial. He is a leader in the cardiovascular world, having been elected to the Board of Governors of American College of Cardiology, immediate past-President of the MA ACC Chapter, and immediate past-President of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI). Dr. Rosenfield is a founding member of VIVA, a 501c3 organization, and sits on its board of directors. At Massachusetts General Hospital, he is the Medical director of the PERT Program, which he founded with his colleagues; he also founded the National PERT Consortium, a 501c3 organization dedicated to improving management, outcomes, and awareness of Pulmonary Embolism, and he served as its initial President; he remains a member of the PERT Consortium Executive Committee.

Bailey Ann Estes is a Cardiac Cath Lab Practitioner and Research Coordinator at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. She has 7 years of experience working the Cardiac Cath Lab as a scrub and first assistant.
She is certified in cardiovascular nursing, first assistant, registered cardiovascular invasive specialist, and peri-operative nursing. She specialized in complex peripheral vascular and critical limb ischemia cases. While continuing to work in the lab, she has helped found and run the research department at Hendrick Medical Center producing research for PAD treatment and amputation prevention.
Bailey is on the editorial board for Cath Lab Digest. She serves as Chair of the Communications Committee for the Cardiovascular Team Section in ACC and sits on the CV Team leadership council. She is a social media consultant for JACC: Advances.

A member of the Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute and Miami Cancer Institute physician team, Dr. Gandhi specializes in minimally invasive treatments for peripheral vascular disease, cancer, and other diseases.

Dr. Gandhi did his undergraduate studies at Northwestern University and Harvard University. He graduated summa cum laude. He received his degree in medicine from Northwestern University Medical School, where he also graduated with honors. Following medical school, he completed a surgical internship at Cornell University Medical Center and New York Presbyterian Hospital. He completed his residency training and fellowship at UCLA Medical Center.

Dr. Gandhi also dedicated an entire year to biomedical research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and also served as a research fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Prior to joining Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute, he was an international visiting scholar at Asan Medical Center/University of Ulsan Medical School in Seoul, South Korea. He has published numerous scientific papers, authored several textbook chapters and presented his research at national and international meetings.

He is also a fellow of the Society for Vascular Medicine and a fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology. He is the co-author of the textbook Interventional Oncology. Dr. Gandhi is also a program director for the International Symposium on Endovascular Therapy (ISET) and Symposium on Clinical Interventional Oncology (CIO).

Raghu Lakshminarayan has been a Consultant Vascular Radiologist at the Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust since 2007 & a Senior Lecturer at Hull York Medical School, having moved to this post from a consultant position at the Royal Brisbane Hospital & Senior Lecturer, University of Queensland, Australia.
He has served as Head of Training for the East Yorkshire Training Scheme, deputy Training Programme Director for IR in Yorkshire and as an expert adviser to NICE and the British Standards Institute. He has a strong commitment to education and training and is a current member of Cardiovascular & Interventional Radiology of Europe (CIRSE) education committee and a member of the patient information task force. He is also a member of the Royal College of Radiologists INR credential board and the GMC credentials Task and Finish group.
His research interests include aortic, peripheral vascular, stroke and embolization techniques. He has published extensively and has been an invited speaker at national and international congresses. He has keen interest in AI in the vascular space and is an academic visitor to the department of Computer Science, University of Durham.
He is the Vice President of the British Society of Interventional Radiology (BSIR). He has served the BSIR in many roles including Secretary (2021-23) and organising and delivering the annual scientific conference as the Scientific committee chair in 2018.

His work focuses on artificial intelligence, robotics, and occupational safety in the cath lab. He co-chairs the American College of Cardiology’s Allied Health Professionals Workgroup and serves on the Board of Advisors for Cardiovascular Credentialing International, advancing national standards, credential alignment, and workforce development. He has held multiple roles with the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, including three terms as Chair of the Cardiac Interventional and Vascular Interventional Chapter. An Associate of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the Alliance of Cardiovascular Professionals, Steelman has authored SCAI-endorsed educational guidelines for invasive cardiovascular technology personnel and several textbook chapters on angiography, vascular imaging equipment, and emerging technologies. A frequent international speaker, he has delivered invited lectures in more than 20 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America. She completed advance microsurgical training at Zurich, and Rhainoplasty Msc at Barcelona. She went on to complete her Radiology and Interventional Radiology specialist registration with the royal college of Radiology London U.K. She completed her advance Endovascular fellowship with Professor Andrew Holden at Auckland University hospital, NewZealand.

Dr Hausen preformed the first lithotripsy in peripheral endovascular CLI disease, along with the first Sirolimus DCB use in both CLI and AVF, in Europe.

Dr Huasen is the head of endovascular research and innovation in Lancashire U.K. Her current interest are training and education of future doctors, radiation protection for patients and staff, CLI management, AVF salvage, pain management and women’s health. She currently works at Lancashire University health trusts U.K.

A member of the Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute and Miami Cancer Institute physician team, Dr. Gandhi specializes in minimally invasive treatments for peripheral vascular disease, cancer, and other diseases.

Dr. Gandhi did his undergraduate studies at Northwestern University and Harvard University. He graduated summa cum laude. He received his degree in medicine from Northwestern University Medical School, where he also graduated with honors. Following medical school, he completed a surgical internship at Cornell University Medical Center and New York Presbyterian Hospital. He completed his residency training and fellowship at UCLA Medical Center.

Dr. Gandhi also dedicated an entire year to biomedical research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and also served as a research fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Prior to joining Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute, he was an international visiting scholar at Asan Medical Center/University of Ulsan Medical School in Seoul, South Korea. He has published numerous scientific papers, authored several textbook chapters and presented his research at national and international meetings.

He is also a fellow of the Society for Vascular Medicine and a fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology. He is the co-author of the textbook Interventional Oncology. Dr. Gandhi is also a program director for the International Symposium on Endovascular Therapy (ISET) and Symposium on Clinical Interventional Oncology (CIO).

Dr. David Rizik completed his undergrad studies in Michigan before attending Saint Louis University Medical School in Saint Louis, Missouri. Internal medicine residency was completed at the Washington University Medical Center. Cardiology and interventional cardiology were completed at William Beaumont Hospital in Detroit. Dr Rizik is board-certified in general and interventional cardiology. He is the Chief Scientific Officer, Director of Structural & Coronary Interventions, and Director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship program at HonorHealth. He was principal investigator of the 1st U.S. DES-Trial. He performed and published the first left main bifurcation intervention in the modern DES era. He has been the principal investigator in a number of TAVR, MitraClip and coronary stent trials. A distinguished researcher in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease, he has published more than 100 manuscripts and book chapters. He was awarded the designation Master Interventionalist from the SCAI in 2018. He is founder and organizing Director of the Scottsdale Interventional Forum, a nationally recognized CME meeting. During the COVID pandemic, he was the first to convert a CME meeting to a virtual platform. After a 13 month hiatus of all CME meetings in the US, the Scottsdale Interventional Forum was the first meeting to return to a “live format” publishing the success of this meeting in CCI.
He is executive producer of the two-time Emmy Award winning medical education series “The Procedure”, and executive producer of Scattered Denial, a medical education series highlighting radiation exposure dangers and orthopedic hazards in the cardiac catheterization lab.

Mr. Michael Seymour joined ORSIF in 2015 and served as Director of Advocacy Programs and Managing Author of the ORSIF Economic Study (2017). He is currently a member of ORSIF’s Board of Directors.

With over 45 years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety, Mr. Seymour worked as a consultant and contractor for Federal OSHA since 1979, became an employee in 1999, and retired in 2012. As the first Director of OSHA’s Office of Physical Hazards, he contributed to the development of many OSHA standards, including Ergonomics and Ionizing Radiation. He also served as Director of OSHA’s Office of Technological Feasibility and Acting Deputy Director of OSHA’s Directorate of Standards and Guidance.
Mr. Seymour is active in developing consensus standards for occupational health and safety management. He is a member of the US Delegation for ISO Technical Committee TC-283 (ISO 45001) and the ANSI Z10 Committee. He serves on the Chair’s Advisor Committee for both organizations and as Chairperson of the Small Business Committees for both ANSI Z10 and ISO TC-283.
