Kristen is a Vascular Nurse Practitioner, and Lead APP of the University of Colorado Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy. She started her career in Critical Care and Interventional Radiology, then was recruited by a vascular surgery team in 1997, declaring it her specialty ever since! She earned her Adult Nurse Practitioner degree at University of Colorado in 2003, and later gained an Adult Gerontological Acute Care Nursing Post Master’s Certificate in 2018.

She has worked in private as well as academic practices. Now works both inpatient and outpatient, while building the APP team at University of Colorado. She has been blessed by amazing vascular surgeon mentors, and believes the care of the vascular patient is best done by a team. Her passion is educating patients, residents, nurses and peers the many facets of the vascular disease process.

She is now the President of the Society for Vascular Nursing, and is thrilled with the work the society has done and continues to do for the betterment of the vascular patient. She is a recent empty nester with two sons at CU, SKO BUFFS!
