Dr. Walter Okoroanyanwu (Dr. OK, as fondly called) until Jan 1, 2024, was a Senior Director/COO at Multi-Specialty Medical Office in Brooklyn where he led the day-to-day operations of multi-site ambulatory markets in Brooklyn and Queens NY. He is also a Visiting Faculty at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Department of Pediatrics with a focus on perinatal and adolescent HIV transmission research and Professional Development (CME, MOC, etc). He has extensive Hospital, Public Health, and Population Health administration knowledge and experience especially in HIV/AIDS and SUD.
Dr O is currently the Vice Chair of Newark EMA HIV Planning Council overseeing the Nominations Committee and guides the Consumers Committees' response to the HIV/SUD intersection. Here he partners with Rutgers Brain Health Addiction Research Center(RARC) Treatment and Recovery Group to promote Medically Tailored Meals(MTM) as Food Is Medicine(FIM) implementation research to save lives, mitigate diet-related conditions, improve patient recruitment and retention and enhance health equity.
As the VP/Chair BOT Liaison at Rutgers Business School Alumni Association, he helps to engage more that 50,000 Alumni Globally. Dr. O is the Principal Consultant at P&T Consult Global where he consults with City, County, State governments and Institutions on MTM as FIM in HIV/SUD intersection through surveillance, prevention, treatment, and support services integration.
He earned his BS-Biology(Texas State University), MD(AUC) and completed a Transitional Internal Medicine Internship(Meharry Medical College), a Preventive Medicine/Public Health Residency(Morehouse-Rollins/Emory University), Family Medicine/Chief Resident(Down State University/ BronxCare Medical Center), an HIV Treatment/Administration Fellowship(BronxCare/AIDS Institute) and Executive MBA(Rutgers Business School-2020).
