Aimaz Afrough
MD

Dr. Aimaz Afrough is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, specializing in multiple myeloma and other plasma cell dyscrasias with a special interest in immuno-cellular therapy. She earned her medical degree from Tabriz University of Medical Sciences in Iran and completed her residency in internal medicine at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore. Dr. Afrough furthered her training with a hematology and oncology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine and a stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Board-certified in medical oncology and hematology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2021. Her clinical research is dedicated to enhancing the therapy and outcomes for patients with plasma cell disorders, focusing on pioneering novel therapeutic approaches like adoptive cell therapy to improve the safety and efficacy of treatments. Her commitment to advancing the field is evident through her numerous academic publications and presentations.
