Dr. Janette Leal graduated from a combined internal medicine and psychiatry residency program at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She went on to specialize in geriatric Psychiatry at Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN. There, she worked in inpatient and outpatient psychiatry with a variety of diagnoses and cared for severely ill patients. While working in a very traditional setting, Dr. Leal developed a passion for integrative and holistic care, for alternative forms of treatment for medical and psychiatric illnesses. She went on to study Integrative Psychiatry at The Integrative Psychiatry Institute and has a special interest in psychedelic medicine for the treatment of mental illness. She is now working in telepsychiatry to be able to reach more people, who need care tailored to their needs and symptoms.
