Asher A. Chanan-Khan, M.D. is dedicated to advancing and discovering treatments for patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia, and multiple myeloma. For over two decade, Professor Chanan-Khan has been engaged in the development of novel therapeutics through laboratory and clinical research. His expertise is in preclinical target validation and drug evaluation directed towards early phase clinical trials. Dr. Chanan-Khan has sserved as the principal investigator or co-principal investigator on numerous clinical trials for patients with these disorders authoring over 200 publications. Administratively, Dr. Chanan-Khan completed his tenure as the Chair of Hematology & Oncology at Mayo Clinic in Florida, member of the Florida Cancer Control & Research Advisory Council (CCRAB) and past member of the NCCN CLL and Myeloma Guideline committees. He is an active member of ASH and ASCO. Dr. Chanan-Khan is an animal conservationist volunteering as a member of the Board on Jacksonville Zoo and a passionate supporter of the non-profit organisation "Open Hands Global" (https://www.openhandsglobal.org) committed to fighting bonded slavery in SouthEast Asia.
