Dr. Rachid Baz completed his medical degree at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon, his training in internal medicine and Hematology Oncology at the Cleveland Clinic and joined Moffit Cancer Center in 2008. Currently, Dr. Baz is the Myeloma Section Head in the Department of Malignant Hematology at Moffitt Cancer Center. In addition, he is the Co-Director of the Pentecost Myeloma Research Center and Professor in the Departments of Oncologic Sciences and Medicine at the University of South Florida in Tampa.
A recognized expert in the management of multiple myeloma (and many other plasma cell disorders), Dr. Baz offers his patient’s several options for clinical trials in addition to the best standard therapies. He is an active researcher, and lectures frequently on multiple myeloma both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Baz’s research and clinical interest is in the management of patients with plasma cell disorders such as multiple myeloma, monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS), plasmacytoma, primary systematic amyloidosis, and Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia (WM).
