Faculty Agenda

Laura Roark RN is an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in advanced heart failure and mechanical circulatory support. She has extensive expertise in caring for patients with Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs) and is passionate about bridging education between hospital systems and prehospital providers. Laura leads EMS VAD training and outreach initiiatives, ensuring first responders are equipped to recongnize, manage and safely transport patients with heart pumps. Currently, she is a Senior VAD Coordinator for Ochsner Health in New Orleans. She is a current member and past chair of the EMS Education Committee for the International Consortium of Circulatory Assist Clinicians (ICCAC).
