Michael D. Gooch, DNP, APRN, CCP, FAASTN, FAANP, FAEN, is a critical care paramedic and emergency and flight nurse practitioner with Vanderbilt LifeFlight, Nashville, TN. With 30 years of experience in emergency and critical care transport, he has completed almost 2000 patient transports. He earned his Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University and his Doctor of Nursing Practice from Loyola University Chicago. Dr. Gooch is also an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Vanderbilt University. A Fellow of the Academy of Air & Surface Transport Nurses, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Academy of Emergency Nursing, Dr. Gooch is a nationally recognized speaker and a published author on a range of emergency and transport medicine topics.
