Donnie Woodyard Jr., MAML, NRP, is Executive Director of the United States EMS Compact and a nationally recognized EMS leader. Based in Colorado, he has served as State EMS Director in both Colorado and Louisiana, and as Chief Operating Officer of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. A 30-year paramedic with extensive international experience, Donnie led the design of Sri Lanka's modern EMS system during the civil war and has led EMS development projects across multiple countries. He is a best-selling author on EMS leadership, innovation, and the future of EMS. Donnie holds a Master's degree in Management and Leadership, is a Wilderness Paramedic, a former Critical Paramedic, and a Flight Paramedic. He brings rigor and real-world operational expertise to his work advancing interstate licensure coordination, technology integration, and strategic leadership in emergency medical services.
